Terms for Cumberland Records

These Terms and Conditions govern use of Cumberland County Busted Mugshots. Browsing or using the pages means the visitor accepts them. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the service. The pages are a private reference, not an official government system.

Cumberland County Busted Mugshots is privately owned and has no affiliation with a government body, sheriff, jail, police department, court, or corrections agency. Neither this service nor its advertising partners offers an FCRA-covered service. The pages point toward Cumberland County and Illinois record resources, but they are not a private investigation firm and are not a consumer reporting agency.

Nature of the Service

This is a private reference service with no tie to any Cumberland County or Illinois government office. It does not store official booking, jail, police, or court files. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, file a court document, or change an agency record.

The pages direct visitors toward sheriff, jail, police FOIA, court, IDOC, federal, and notification resources. Outside search tools may also appear. Each provider controls its own records, data practices, pricing, and availability.

Acceptable Use

  • Use the pages in a lawful manner.
  • Do not use information to stalk, threaten, harass, or endanger another person.
  • Do not use records for any prohibited FCRA purpose described below.
  • Do not try to gain unauthorized access to the service or a linked system.
  • Do not run bots, scrapers, or bulk collection tools against the pages.
  • Do not interfere with availability or another visitor’s use.

FCRA Restrictions

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not provide background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services, and neither do its advertising partners through these pages. Visitors agree not to use information from the service or a linked tool for any FCRA-covered purpose, including:

  • Hiring, firing, promotion, or other employment decisions.
  • Tenant or housing screening.
  • Creditworthiness decisions or insurance premiums.
  • Licensing, permits, or government-program eligibility.
  • Any other use regulated by the FCRA.

Links and Outside Providers

Links may lead to jail and sheriff pages, police FOIA forms, court portals, Illinois corrections, federal locators, legal-aid resources, and outside search services. An outbound link is not an endorsement. Cumberland County Busted Mugshots is not responsible for an outside provider’s content, data handling, pricing, accuracy, or uptime. Review the provider’s own terms before using it.

Information Provided As Is

The pages and linked references are provided “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made about:

  • Accuracy, completeness, or current status.
  • Uninterrupted availability.
  • Absence of errors, bugs, or security weaknesses.
  • Completeness of any partner search result.

Custody status and public records change. Nothing here is an official statement from a sheriff, jail, police department, court, or other government agency.

Liability Limit

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cumberland County Busted Mugshots and its operators are not liable for damages, losses, or claims arising from access to or use of the pages, a linked service, or information obtained through them.

Indemnification

By using the service, a visitor agrees to defend and hold harmless the operators and content partners from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees arising from that visitor’s use of the pages, misuse of information, violation of these terms, or violation of another person’s rights.

Content Ownership

Text, graphics, logos, layout, and code belong to Cumberland County Busted Mugshots or its content partners unless another owner is identified. Copying, distributing, selling, modifying, or republishing protected material requires written permission or another lawful right.

Updates to These Conditions

These terms may be changed at any time. A revision becomes effective when posted on the service. Continued use after posting indicates acceptance of the revised language.

Suspension or Denial of Access

Access may be limited, suspended, or blocked at any time and for any reason, with or without notice. That action may protect the service, other visitors, a linked provider, or the operator’s legal rights.

Illinois Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. A dispute should be filed in a court located within Illinois unless applicable law requires another venue.

Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. The affected language should be narrowed or adjusted only as much as needed to make it lawful.

Questions About the Terms

Questions about these conditions may be sent through the Contacts page. Questions about custody, booking, or court status belong with the originating government office.
